Anthony Rionda
Anthony A. Rionda, J.D., MPA serves as Associate Vice President for Strategic Communications, Government, and External Affairs, and Co-Executive Director of the Center for Community Impact and Public Purpose at Florida International University (FIU). FIU is Miami’s preeminent Carnegie R1 university focused on student success and research excellence.
At FIU, Rionda works to support the university’s mission through strategic marketing, community engagement, and building awareness and support locally, nationally and internationally. In his role, he has helped develop innovative strategies, campaigns, initiatives, and academic and student programs aimed as supporting FIU’s mission and goal of being recognized as a Top 50 public research university.
He has served as a Fellow of the FIU Honors College since 2015, and an adjunct professor at the FIU College of Law. He is actively engaged in the South Florida community and serves on the Board of Directors of the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Prospera South Florida Regional Board, and supports many other organizations. He is also proud to serve on the executive committee of the Association of Public and Land Grant Universities Strategic Communications Executive Committee.
Anthony is a Miami native and holds degrees in Political Science and an MPA from the Green School of International and Public Affairs, and a J.D. from the FIU College of Law. He was a member of the 10th cohort of the Georgetown-ASU Academy for Innovative Higher Education Leadership.
