School Board Member, Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS), was elected to the Board in August 2008, re-elected in 2012 and again in 2016. He has served as School Board Vice Chair for four years, as Board appointee to the M-DCPS Audit and Budget Advisory Committee, as Chair of the Fiscal Committee and served as Ex-Officio on all School Board Committees in his capacity as School Board Chair during the 2016-17 school year. During his 45 years of service to M-DCPS, he honorably served the education community as a teacher, assistant principal, principal and region director working with the multi-culturally and economically diverse communities throughout Miami.

JetStream Federal Credit Union (Miami Lakes, FL ), with $200 million in assets, is looking for a strategic leader to join the credit union in the role of Chief Lending Officer. This position, which reports directly to the CEO, will lead the Consumer, Business Lending, and Collections teams. Responsibilities include efficient and quality delivery of loan origination and underwriting; growing the loan portfolio according to the credit union’s overall strategic plan while maintaining a focus on acceptable levels of risk; and implementing sound internal controls. Other duties include the development, implementation, and administration of loan and collections policies; ensuring portfolio management compliance; contributing to the development of the credit union strategic plans and goals as they relate to lending; directing activities assigned to departmental managers and staff; ensuring continuous staff development; and representing the credit union in the local, business, and credit union communities. The ideal candidate will enhance the sales culture of the credit union by promoting the brand, coaching team members, providing feedback, and exceeding service expectations. This talented executive will have extensive experience in leading teams, a proven ability to manage relationships with regulators, and a highly effective open style of communication.
 
A bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field is required. Minimum of five years of progressive lending experience in a managerial role is preferred.
