Committees

Committee members welcome new members to the organization. New members are all called by an Ambassador to welcome them to the organization and answer any questions. Ambassadors welcome new members at monthly events. Ambassadors meet quarterly. Chairs: Santiago Quintana, Jr. ,SVP/Retail Sales & Service Manager – Miami Dade Region, BankUnited, N. A.

This committee implements the business programs of the organization such as Loan Links and the Minority Business Enhancement Program. This committee also recommends new business initiatives to the Board of Directors. This committee meets quarterly. Chairperson: Armando Trabanco, Business Development, Year Up.

Coordinates activities with chamber non-profit members and handles the Education Enhancement Program of the SFLHCC. Committee members review and read all scholarship applications and must attend the interview process with students in order to select the winners. Meets quarterly, Chairperson: Candy Sicle

A Women’s network that works towards the advancement of women in all aspects of life with emphasis on increasing women’s participation on corporate boards and equal pay among others. Meets monthly. Chairperson: Nerys Gonzalez

Handles the two annual events that deal with health and wellness. The committee meets monthly from January to October. Co-Chairs: Maria Luisa Gonzalez Silva and Catalina Febles de Caratini

This committee works to bring in new members to the organization. It also seeks donations of prizes to present to the member that brings in more members to organization. Committee meets quarterly. Chair: Rene Cibran.

This committee handles logistics for the organization’s signature events. This committee meets bi-annually. Chairperson: Liz Fernandez, Public Relations Specialist, Stantec.

The golf committee meets only for four months out of the year to plan and handle logistics for the annual golf tournament of the SFLHCC. The golf tournament benefits the scholarship program of the SFLHCC. Golf committee meets monthly from January to May. Co Chairs – Orlando Romero and Rodolfo Bustamante

This committee handles governmental affairs and takes on issues of relevance to the community in order to serve as a strong advocate and voice within the Hispanic Business Community. This committee meets quarterly. Chairs: Jose Perez de Corcho and Dan Espino, Esq.

The objective of the Hospitality Committee is to attract and encourage individuals, companies and organizations to visit Greater Miami and the Beaches. This committee meets quarterly. Chairman is Ramon Antelo, GM of Z Hotel in South Beach.
