Health and Wellness
The Health and Wellness Committee, chaired by Michelle Febres, is dedicated to promoting well-being and awareness through three significant annual events: the Heart Disease Awareness Luncheon, the Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon, and the Health Champion Awards. Each event aims to educate, inspire, and recognize efforts in the realm of health and wellness, fostering a community committed to healthier lifestyles.

Hispanic Women's Society Network
Chaired by Myrna Vaca, the Hispanic Women's Society Network Committee, founded in 2013, is the gateway to promoting healthy lifestyles and community well-being. Our Health and Wellness Committee organizes signature annual events, including the Heart Disease Awareness Luncheon, the Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon, and the Health Champion Awards. These events educate attendees, inspire action, and celebrate efforts in health advocacy. Committee Participation Criteria Sheet
To ensure the highest level of engagement, consistency, and representation within the Hispanic Women Society Network, the following criteria must be met to be considered an active and eligible member of the HWSN Committee.
Eligibility Requirements
To serve on the Hispanic Women Society Network Committee, a candidate must:

Be an Active Member

Must be a current and active member of the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SFLHCC) in good standing.

Hold a Trustee Level Membership or Higher
-
Only Trustee-level members and above are eligible to serve on the HWSN Committee.

Annual Participation Requirements
To maintain an active status on the HWSN Committee, members must:

Attend at Least 3 of the 4 Annual HWSN Events
-
The HWSN hosts four signature events per year. Committee members are required to attend at least two of these.

Attend at Least 2 Additional Chamber Signature Luncheons
-
In addition to HWSN events, members must attend at least two other SFLHCC major events or luncheons annually (e.g., Health Champion Awards, Hispanic Leadership Awards, Installation Luncheon, Legislative Reception, etc.).

Committee Member Expectations
Members of the committee are expected to:

Actively contribute ideas and assist in planning and promoting HWSN events.
-
Support the Chamber’s mission of empowering Hispanic women in business and leadership.
-
Serve as ambassadors of the HWSN within the community.
-
Participate in at least one HWSN planning session per year.
-
Provide feedback and suggestions for program enhancement and community engagement.
Notes

Members who do not meet the above criteria may be removed or rotated off the committee at the discretion of Chamber leadership.

Special exceptions may be made for extenuating circumstances with prior approval.
Hispanic Bankers Club
The South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce proudly announces the launch of its Hispanic Bankers Club. This new initiative is dedicated to advancing financial literacy, improving access to capital, expanding economic opportunities, and fostering meaningful networking within the Hispanic business community.

Founded in 2010, the SFLHCC Business Committee—chaired by Jose Perez de Corcho and co-chaired by Armando Trabanco—is committed to advancing financial literacy, improving access to capital, and expanding economic opportunities within the Hispanic business community. Through strategic partnerships with financial institutions, the committee offers educational resources, guidance, and networking opportunities designed to help entrepreneurs and professionals thrive in today’s dynamic financial landscape.
Business Technology Committee
The SFLHCC Business Technology Committee, chaired by Jovianna Gonzalez and co-chaired by Andres Collazos, is dedicated to empowering businesses through innovation, education, and resources. The committee fosters partnerships with tech leaders and provides resources to help members embrace emerging technologies, enhance their online presence, and stay competitive in today’s digital economy.

Ambassador's Committee
Chaired by Nercy Radcliffe, the Ambassador’s Committee, founded in 2008, welcomes the chamber’s new members and coordinates a quarterly lunch with the Chairman of the SFLHCC to introduce new members, get to know them personally, and inform them about the chamber’s activities and programs. Ambassadors must be active members of the SFLHCC for at least three years to participate in this committee. This initiative helps new members maximize their membership benefits and get the most value from their involvement.

Hospitality Committee
The Hospitality Committee, chaired by Frank Bustamante, recognizes that tourism is Florida's leading industry. To support chamber members within the hospitality sector, the committee aims to promote their businesses actively. As part of this initiative, the organization arranges quarterly networking receptions, highlighting various venues within the industry. Each member in the hospitality sector is given a chance to sponsor one of these networking events, providing a platform to showcase their hotels and restaurants to fellow organization members.
Governmental Affairs Committee
This committee oversees governmental and legislative affairs, addressing issues relevant to the community to serve as a strong advocate and voice for the Hispanic and Minority Business Communities. The Governmental Affairs Committee is chaired by Daniel Espino and co-chaired by Myrna Vaca and Nercy Radcliffe.
Education Foundation Committee
The chamber's Education Committee collaborates closely with the SFLHCC Foundation to promote various educational programs. The Foundation is responsible for the Education Enhancement Program, the Scholarship Program, and the Internship Program. Through these initiatives, the Foundation has awarded $775,000 in scholarship funds, significantly contributing to educational advancement and opportunities. The committee's efforts help ensure that these impactful programs reach and benefit the broader community. Co-Chairs are Michelle Febres and Felipe Basulto.
Sustainability Committee
Chaired by Mike Fernandez and co-chaired by Irela Bagué, the SFLHCC Sustainability Committee orchestrates the Chamber's eco-focused events, including the flagship Sustainability Lunch and Panel Discussion. This annual gathering features a panel discussion to educate and engage attendees on critical environmental issues. The event promotes awareness, encourages actionable change, and focuses on reducing waste, conserving resources, and fostering sustainable behaviors within the community and beyond. The committee strives to drive meaningful impact and inspire eco-friendly practices through its initiatives.

Young Leaders Network (YLN)
