Michael Fernandez
Mike Fernandez is the Vice President of Post Collections at Waste Pro. Mike manages the company’s development and operations for 32 landfills, 20 transfer stations, and 4 recycling processing facilities throughout Waste Pro’s 12-state footprint. He is a highly experienced senior executive with over 30 years of experience in the solid waste and recycling industry. A Miami native, Mike received both his undergraduate degree and his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Florida International University. He has been recognized by the industry, including being recognized as a Waste360 40 Under 40 Recipient and on MSW Management Magazine as a 2023 Leadership Award Recipient. Mike is very active in both industry and the community, such as involvement in the beach cleanups, organizations such as the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) where he was elected as a Florida Board Member for the Florida Sunshine Chapter. He is also the Chairman for the American Cancer Society, 2025 Men Wear Pink Campaign, and Chair of the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Sustainability Committee. Last year he earned the Chamber’s annual award for outstanding community service and sustainability award. Mike is committed to delivering outstanding service and leading innovative sustainability initiatives at Waste Pro.
