Event Name: THE WOMEN'S FUND OF MIAMI-DADE Impact Collaborative: Smart Business, Smart Policies, Smart Kids, Tax Credits, Human Benefits.

Date & Location: Thursday, Feb 5, 2026

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM EST via Zoom

Description: How do tax policies shape the lives of working families and the futures of our children? Join a timely and thought-provoking conversation exploring the intersection of tax policy, childhood development, and workforce development, anchored in our Economic Mobility Pillar.

Keynote Speaker: Senator Alexis Calatayud.

Panelists: Galina Ilcheva, Director of Human Resources, JW Marriott Marquis Miami; Meredith Lipnick, Director of Private Sector Strategy, Mom’s First; Dr. April Mosely, Vice Chair, Empowering Early Educators.

In Florida, 68% of children live in families where all parents work, and 23 million Floridians rely on childcare services to get to work. Access to affordable, high-quality early learning is a cornerstone of workforce stability, economic mobility, and child development.

During this Impact Collaborative, we will unpack this data and additional findings from The Women’s Fund’s latest report, A Powerful Business Case for Early Learning & Childcare. The report reveals that insufficient childcare is a billion-dollar problem in Miami-Dade, and addressing childcare accessibility and affordability is not just a workforce concern; it’s an economic imperative and a compelling business case for the future of Miami-Dade. Through expert insights and real-world examples, this discussion will examine how existing tax benefits and childcare resources can strengthen working families, support local businesses, and invest in the futures of children across our community. Whether you’re a policymaker, nonprofit leader, educator, student, parent, or community advocate, this session will deepen your understanding of how smart policy choices can lead to smarter investments in our families and the future of our community.
