The South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SFLHCC) proudly hosted the launch of its highly anticipated Miami Tech Club with a vibrant networking reception. The Miami Tech Club's "Business Technology Committee," under the leadership of Chair Jovianna Gonzalez, is dedicated to empowering businesses through innovation, education, and essential resources.

Under Jovianna's guidance, the Committee is actively fostering partnerships with technology leaders and providing valuable resources to help our members embrace emerging technologies, enhance their online presence, and remain competitive in today's fast-paced digital landscape.

Interim President of Florida International University Moves Forward as Sole Finalist for Consideration by FIU Board of Trustees


The FIU Presidential Search Committee has completed interviews and selected three finalists, including Interim President Jeanette M. Nuñez. Two external finalists withdrew after declining to participate unless the sole candidate was named. As a result, the Committee unanimously advanced Nuñez as the only finalist for consideration by the FIU Board of Trustees.

North Miami Beach Small Business Summit & Expo


The South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SFLHCC) recently had the privilege of participating in the North Miami Beach Small Business Expo, a dynamic event dedicated to the growth and success of small businesses in the community. The expo provided entrepreneurs and small business owners with an invaluable platform to access the essential tools, resources, and networking opportunities needed to thrive in today’s competitive market. Attendees enjoyed a full schedule of interactive workshops and seminars covering various topics.

SFLHCC is proud to support our local entrepreneurs and remains committed to providing resources, advocacy, and opportunities that empower our members. We thank the organizers of the North Miami Beach Small Business Expo and Commissioner Daniela Jean for hosting such a valuable event and look forward to future collaborations that will continue to strengthen our local business community.

Recently, President Lopez had the pleasure of attending the highly anticipated Delta & LATAM Airlines Executive Townhall.

This exclusive event brought together senior leaders, executives, and community partners to discuss the future of aviation, evolving customer needs, and airlines' role in supporting economic development in South Florida and beyond. The Town Hall served as an excellent platform for open dialogue, collaboration, and networking among industry stakeholders and community leaders.

SFLHCC President Liliam M. Lopez Attended an Exclusive PMI Dinner at The Bass Museum SFLHCC President and CEO Liliam M. Lopez recently enjoyed a private, exclusive dinner presented by PMI at the renowned Bass Museum in Miami-Dade. The event brought together some of the region's most distinguished community and business leaders for a night of meaningful conversation and connection amid an inspiring setting.


A special highlight of the evening was meeting Stacey Kennedy, President of the Americas Region and CEO of PMI's U.S. Business. Events like these underscore the importance of building relationships, sharing ideas, and strengthening bonds that help our region thrive.

Women Start New Lives With Culinary School Graduation


Seven women are celebrating the completion of the culinary skills training program, a transformative course designed to empower women facing challenges such as substance abuse or poverty. The program, a collaboration between CareerSource South Florida, Miami-Dade College and the AGAPE Network, offers more than just cooking lessons – it provides a holistic approach to help women rebuild their lives, develop new skills, and enter the workforce with a fresh sense of purpose.

 

The graduation ceremony, held at AGAPE, marks the successful completion of the regionally recognized 8-week culinary training course. Designed to provide students with a solid foundation in culinary techniques, the program combines expert instruction, real-world kitchen experience, and integrated behavioral healthcare to ensure that each participant has the tools and support needed for success.
