Embrace Our Heritage: The Importance of

Hispanic Heritage Month at SFLHCC

The South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SFLHCC) joins people across the nation to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, a vibrant and meaningful time to honor the cultures, histories, and contributions of Americans whose roots trace back to Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central, and South America.

At SFLHCC, Hispanic Heritage Month holds special significance. South Florida's heart beats with the energy and creativity of its diverse Hispanic community. From bustling entrepreneurs and established business leaders to passionate artists and dedicated community advocates, our members' achievements underscore how integral Hispanic heritage is in shaping the region's economy and character.

Hispanic Heritage Month begins on September 15th, coinciding with the independence days of several Latin American countries, including Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. It is closely followed by Mexico, Chile, and Belize. This time serves as a reminder of our shared stories and collective strength.

As we recognize the visionaries and trailblazers of our past, we also spotlight the hardworking small business owners, professionals, and leaders within our own chamber. Their innovation, resilience, and ongoing impact are foundational to South Florida's success and growth.

At SFLHCC, celebrating our heritage isn't just about looking back; it's about nurturing connections, creating opportunities, and paving the way for the next generation of Hispanic leaders. Hispanic Heritage Month allows us to unite, share our unique stories, and reaffirm our commitment to supporting each other in business and beyond.

This month, honor our roots, uplift our community, and continue building a brighter, more inclusive future for everyone in South Florida and beyond.

Greater Miami Ranked Among the Top 10 Sports Destinations in the World

MIAMI – (September 12, 2025) – Greater Miami and Miami Beach is officially ranked among the world’s top 10 global sports cities, according to Burson’s highly anticipated 2025 Ranking of Sport Cities. Miami’s jump to #8 worldwide underscores the destination’s undeniable role as a year-round hub for world-class competition—and adds another powerful proof point to its reputation as a global sports capital. Already home to marquee competitions like the Orange BowlMiami OpenMiami Marathon and F1 Miami Grand Prix, the region’s sports calendar has expanded with five new global annual events: PGA Tour Signature Event, E1 Power Boat Series, Formula E, Unrivaled Women’s Basketball, and the HYROX Fitness Festival. Following the successful hosting of the FIFA Club World Cup earlier this year, these additions—along with upcoming international tournaments including FIFA World Cup 26™—reinforce Miami’s status as a year-round sports capital while delivering powerful economic impact for the community.
