Distinguished Women in Leadership Come Together

The South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce proudly highlights a special moment: President Liliam M. Lopez was recently photographed alongside two exceptional leaders, The Honorable Tarlika Nuñez-Navarro and Rosalyn Sia Baker-Barnes. Judge Tarlika Nuñez-Navarro is widely respected for her dedication to justice, integrity, and service to the South Florida community. Rosalyn Sia Baker-Barnes is a trailblazing attorney and leader, currently serving as the 77th President of The Florida Bar (2025–2026), making history as the first African American woman to lead the organization. She also serves as Managing Partner of a leading Florida law firm and was the first African American woman to lead her firm’s board, reflecting her continued impact on the legal profession. Moments like these highlight the power of leadership, representation, and the women shaping the future of our community.

Building the Future Workforce Together

The South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is proud to partner with CareerSource South Florida and Miami-Dade County Public Schools for this impactful bi-weekly workforce development workshop series for high school students.

These sessions are designed to equip students with the essential skills they need to succeed in today's job market, including interview preparation, workplace etiquette, communication, and financial literacy. Through this initiative, we are helping bridge the gap between education and employment while empowering the next generation of leaders in our community.

We encourage you to share this opportunity with students in your network, whether they're your children, employees' families, interns, or young individuals who could benefit from career-readiness guidance. Your support can help shape a student's future and open doors to meaningful career paths.

Together, we are not just preparing students for jobs; we are building a stronger, more skilled workforce for South Florida.

Leadership in Action:

A New Chapter at Jackson Health

The South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is proud to share that President Liliam M. Lopez recently met with David Zambrana, a respected healthcare leader who has stepped into the role of CEO at Jackson Health System, succeeding the highly regarded Carlos Migoya.

With a strong background in healthcare administration, David Zambrana has spent years within Jackson Health, serving in key leadership roles where he helped drive operational excellence, expand patient services, and strengthen one of the nation’s most vital public health systems. His deep understanding of the organization and commitment to community-centered care position him well to lead Jackson Health into its next chapter.

SFLHCC is honored to witness and support this continued legacy of leadership.

Celebrating Earth Month: Small Actions, Big Impact

April marks Earth Month, a time to reflect on how we care for our environment and take meaningful steps toward a more sustainable future. For the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, this is an opportunity to highlight how businesses and individuals across our community can make a positive impact, both environmentally and economically.

Sustainability is no longer just a trend; it’s a smart business practice. From reducing waste and conserving energy to supporting eco-friendly products and services, small changes can lead to significant results. Many businesses are finding that going green not only helps protect our planet but also reduces costs, improves efficiency, and strengthens their brand.

Earth Month is also a great time for companies to engage employees and customers through initiatives like office recycling programs, community clean-ups, and sustainability challenges. These efforts not only benefit the environment but also build stronger, more connected teams and communities.

As we celebrate Earth Month, we also invite our members to get more involved by joining the SFLHCC Sustainability Committee. This committee provides a platform for collaboration, idea sharing, and the leadership of initiatives that promote environmentally responsible business practices across South Florida.

Together, we can take meaningful steps toward a greener future while continuing to grow and thrive as a business community.
