SFLHCC Brings the Community Together for an Impactful Women’s Health Forum on Cognitive Wellness

Last Thursday, the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SFLHCC) hosted a powerful and well-attended Women’s Health Forum Luncheon at the Palme d’Or Restaurant at The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, bringing together community leaders, healthcare experts, and professionals for an important conversation on cognitive health.

Centered on the theme “Cognitive Health,” the forum highlighted the growing importance of brain health, mental well-being, and preventive care for women at all stages of life. The discussion also addressed the increasing prevalence of cognitive health challenges among women and emphasized the importance of early awareness and proactive care.

The program featured an insightful keynote by Dr. Rosie Curiel Cid, a leading neuropsychologist and professor at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Her presentation provided attendees with valuable, science-backed strategies to support long-term cognitive wellness and better understand the aging brain.

The conversation was thoughtfully moderated by Univision Miami news anchor Jorge Hernandez, whose engaging presence guided a meaningful, interactive dialogue among attendees.

Thank you to our presenting sponsor, UHealth – University of Miami Health System, and our title sponsor, Bank of America, to all our attendees, and to everyone who made this event possible.

SFLHCC President Liliam M. Lopez had the honor of attending the 20th Anniversary Gala of the Adrienne Arsht Center, “Paint the Arsht Red,” an unforgettable evening celebrating two decades of artistic excellence and community impact in South Florida.

The event was a beautiful reminder of the vital role the arts play in inspiring, educating, and uplifting our community. Lily was especially grateful to Ms. Adrienne Arsht for the kind invitation to join her table, making the evening even more meaningful. Congratulations to Hillit Meidar-Alfi, PhD, Chair of the Board, for leading such a remarkable milestone celebration.

As a proud board member, Lily continues to support the Center’s mission and celebrates its ongoing contributions to the cultural and economic vitality of our region.

🌎 Sustainable Business, Stronger Community
🌎 Sustainable Business, Stronger Community

As we continue to celebrate Earth Month, we reflect on the choices we make today that shape the future of our community. At the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, we believe that sustainability and business success go hand in hand.

Across South Florida, businesses are embracing more environmentally responsible practices, from reducing energy consumption and minimizing waste to adopting greener operations and supporting sustainable suppliers. These efforts not only protect our environment but also create long-term value, helping businesses operate more efficiently and appeal to today’s conscious consumers.

Earth Month is also an opportunity to lead by example. Whether it’s implementing simple changes in your workplace, encouraging your team to participate in community clean-ups, or exploring sustainable business strategies, every action counts.

We also invite our members to take a more active role by joining the SFLHCC Sustainability Committee. In this collaborative space, leaders come together to share ideas, drive initiatives, and champion sustainability across our business community.

Together, we can build a greener, more resilient South Florida, one business, one action at a time.

🌎 Be part of the movement. Get involved. Make an impact.
