SFLHCC President Takes Washionton DC by Storm for the Inaugaration of the President

Liliam M. Lopez, President of the SFLHCC had a whirlwind week in Washington, D.C., attending a series of significant events surrounding the president's inauguration. Her visit was a great oppurtunity for networking, and cultural celebrations. Here is a look at some of the events she attended.

The 305 Brunch and FIU Research Showcase Our President had a delightful time at the Florida International University brunch in Washington, DC, celebrating the influence of the Magic City in the nation's capital. It was a wonderful morning, meeting friends and esteemed leaders. She was thrilled to connect with Miami's Mayor Francis X. Suarez, U.S. Ambassador to Spain Benjamin Leon III, the inspiring Adrienne Arsht, Jorge Plasencia, and Matthew Love, CEO of Nicklaus Children's Health System. She also enjoyed speaking with FIU's own Michelle Lorenzo Palacio. Thank you to Kenneth Hall, President of the Florida International University Foundation, for his outstanding work, and Kenneth A. Jessell for his exceptional leadership!

The Sunshine Ball

The Sunshine Ball, a celebration by the State of Florida, was elegantly hosted by Senator Rick Scott. At this glittering event, Lily had the pleasure of meeting the newly elected Governor of Puerto Rico, Jenniffer Aydin González Colón. Also in attendance were Congressman Carlos Gimenez, Miami-Dade's new Clerk of Circuit and County Courts Juan A. Fernandez-Barquin, and Sweetwater's Mayor Jose Pepe Diaz, accompanied by his exceptional Chief of Staff, Maria Alejandra Membrano. It was a night filled with notable leaders and vibrant exchanges.

FIU Inaugural Ball

Liliam, had the great honor of meeting the President of Paraguay, Santiago Peña Palacios, at Florida International University's Presidential Inaugural Ball in Washington, D.C. She is proud to serve on the President's Council and support this esteemed university. Kudos to the leadership for organizing such a remarkable event with distinguished guests.

Marco Rubio Sworn-in as Secretary of State

Liliam extends a heartfelt congratulations to Senator Marco Rubio on his swearing-in as Secretary of State. It was also a pleasure for her to meet with Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart. She is looking forward to seeing the positive impact of their leadership!
