SFLHCC Board of Directors Quarterly Meeting

The SFLHCC Board of Directors gathered for their quarterly meeting to discuss the chamber's latest initiatives and developments. We thank Past Chairman Felipe Basulto for graciously hosting the meeting and for his continued support and leadership. Stay tuned for more updates as we work together to advance our community's goals!

Celebrating Mother Earth

April marks Earth Month when people worldwide emphasize the importance of protecting our environment. The highlight of this important month is Earth Day, celebrated every year on April 22nd. It’s a moment to reflect on our impact on the planet and to consider the small, everyday changes we can make for a healthier future.

At the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SFLHCC), we believe that businesses and communities have a vital role in sustainability. Whether you are a business owner or community leader, your commitment to environmentally friendly practices can inspire others and help drive lasting change.

This Earth Month, we encourage you to:

  • Reduce single-use plastics in your workplace or at home.

  • Support local, eco-friendly businesses.

  • Participate in community clean-up events.

  • Promote recycling and energy-saving practices with your employees and family.

Let’s work together to keep South Florida beautiful for generations to come. Tag us in your green initiatives, and let’s celebrate the positive steps we’re taking, big and small, toward a healthier planet.

Washington, D.C. Visitor Bureau Connects with the SFLHCC

This week, the SFLHCC welcomed the Official Visitor and Convention Bureau for Washington, D.C., to Miami! On Thursday, April 17th, a special dinner was hosted at the Mayfair House, which created wonderful opportunities for networking and collaboration.

We would like to extend a special thank you to Megan Fariel, Executive Meetings Manager (East), and Priscilla Alvarez, Conference Sales Manager, for serving as gracious hosts. We also recognize Vivian Sirrianna, Manager for Global Accounts at HelmsBriscoe, for expertly coordinating this memorable event.

Congratulations Dr. Oz!

The SFLHCC congratulates Dr. Oz on his sworn-in as the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator. We are excited to see the leadership and vision he will bring to this critical role. SFLHCC President Liliam M. Lopez was delighted to meet Dr. Oz.
