The South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SFLHCC) is proud to announce that our President, Liliam M. Lopez, was among the distinguished honorees at the launch of the Facts About Cuban Exiles (FACE) 2025 Oral History Project. The memorable event took place at the prestigious Loews Hotel, bringing together community leaders, trailblazers, and supporters of Cuban heritage to commemorate the stories that have helped shape our region.


The FACE 2025 Oral History Project aims to preserve and share the powerful journeys and achievements of Cuban exiles—an essential part of South Florida’s vibrant history and cultural landscape. As an honoree, Ms. Lopez was recognized for her unwavering commitment to advocating for the Hispanic business community and for her inspiring story that echoes the resilience, hope, and determination synonymous with the Cuban exile experience.

SFLHCC President Liliam M. Lopez Honored at Passport to Calle Ocho Hosted by Breakthrough T1D


The South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SFLHCC) is thrilled to announce that its President, Liliam M. Lopez, was recently honored at the "Passport to Calle Ocho" event, hosted by Breakthrough T1D, formerly known as JDRF, the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes research.

The celebratory event occurred on June 5th, gathering community leaders, advocates, and supporters at Ball & Chain in the heart of Miami's historic Little Havana. Passport to Calle Ocho is an annual fundraiser that highlights Miami's diverse culture and vibrant spirit while raising critical funds and awareness for type 1 diabetes research and advocacy.

Liliam M. Lopez was recognized for her longstanding commitment to public service and dedication to supporting families and communities affected by type 1 diabetes. Through her leadership at SFLHCC and various philanthropic efforts, Ms. Lopez has passionately advocated for health causes and Hispanic businesses in South Florida.

The South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce congratulates President Liliam M. Lopez on this recognition. It looks forward to future partnerships in pursuing a healthier, more inclusive South Florida community.
