The South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce held its 31st Annual Installation Luncheon and Golden Eagle Awards at the Biltmore Hotel. Business leaders, public servants, and advocates gathered to celebrate leadership in Miami-Dade County. The Honorable Katherine Fernandez Rundle received the Golden Eagle Award for her dedication to justice. A special first-time “Community and Leadership Award” was presented to Liliam “Lily” Lopez for her outstanding service.


The event also featured a panel of Constitutional Officers discussing public service and leadership. Panelists included top Miami-Dade officials such as:


- The Honorable Rosie Cordero-Stutz, Miami-Dade County Sheriff

- The Honorable Alina Garcia, Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections

- The Honorable Tomás Regalado, Miami-Dade County Property Appraiser

- The Honorable Dariel Fernandez, Miami-Dade County Tax Collector


The panel was moderated by the Honorable Daniel Espino, Esq., COO and General Counsel at CREI, who also serves as Vice Chair of Miami-Dade County Public Schools. He guided a conversation on public service, community engagement, and leadership.


During the celebration, the SFLHCC Board of Directors was officially sworn in for 2025, marking another year dedicated to supporting and uplifting the local business community.




Exclusive Fireside Chat with Aetna


The South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce hosted an exclusive Fireside Chat on May 2, 2025, at the Biltmore Hotel, sponsored by Aetna. The event focused on the theme "Bridging the Gap: The Role of Healthcare in Enhancing Student and Educator Well-Being." 


The reception featured notable speakers, including Dr. Lee Washington, Dr. Saima Aftab, and school board members Daniel A. Espino and Roberto Alonso. The goal of the event was to foster connections between leaders in education, business, and healthcare in Miami-Dade, encouraging participants to exchange ideas on improving the well-being of both students and educators.

The Legends Gala Honoring Steve Adkins The South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SFLHCC) proudly joined the community in honoring Steve Adkins, President and CEO of the Miami-Dade Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (MDGLCC), for his 25 years of dedicated service.


Steve Adkins has been a steadfast advocate for diversity, equity, and economic empowerment, guiding the MDGLCC to become one of region’s leading voices for LGBTQ+ business owners and professionals. Under his leadership, the chamber has fostered partnerships, championed inclusivity, and enriched Miami-Dade’s business landscape.

A Night to Remember

Launching the John Bell Foundation

John Bell Construction hosted an unforgettable evening filled with purpose, unity, and inspiration. Surrounded by supporters, partners, and friends, the team celebrated the launch of the John Bell Foundation and marked nine remarkable years of growth and service. The event featured heartfelt speeches, surprise proclamations, and a shared sense of pride in the work being done to uplift the community.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami Hosts Inspiring Dream Big Gala

On May 3rd, the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami hosted its annual Dream Big Gala, a premier fundraising event dedicated to transforming young lives through the power of mentorship. The event brought together community leaders, supporters, and advocates to celebrate the positive impact that mentorship can have on local youth.


The evening featured inspiring stories from "Bigs" and "Littles," highlighting the lifelong bonds formed through the program and the tangible difference that guidance and support can make. Funds raised at the gala will help expand mentoring opportunities, match more children with mentors, and deliver essential resources for Miami's next generation.


SFLHCC was honored to participate in this meaningful celebration and support a cause that so closely aligns with our mission of uplifting the community. Congratulations to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami on another successful Dream Big Gala!
