SFLHCC Foundation’s Healthy Food Program Educates Students & Empowers Low-Income Families Through Nutritious Cooking

The South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SFLHCC) Foundation proudly advanced its Healthy Food Program last week through two impactful events focused on promoting nutrition, wellness, and culinary education in our community.

Six students from Miami Beach Senior High School’s Academy of Hospitality participated in a hands-on cooking session at the Miami Culinary Institute guided by Chef Patty. The students learned how to prepare healthy meals that taste great, reinforcing the importance of balanced eating in both their hospitality training and everyday lives. Click Here for More Photos

The SFLHCC Foundation partnered with Centro Mater West to host a cooking demonstration for 25 low-income families. Led by the engaging and chamber friend of 20 years, Short Chef, the event provided practical cooking tips and emphasized the importance of nutritious meals while staying on a budget. Each family went home with a bag of non-perishable food items to help them recreate the recipes in their kitchens.
